The “Rietveld House” on Breda’s singel is a design by architect Frans Mol, in which simplicity and spatiality are central. The dark herringbone floor in the original part contrasts powerfully with the light concrete floor in the modern extension. These floors enhance one another, bringing both tension and harmony together in a single whole. The extension houses the kitchen area, where the fireplace plays a central role—not only as a source of warmth but also as an architectural element that anchors the space and adds atmosphere.
The furniture has been chosen with careful attention to volume and balance. Sandy tones are paired with deep, darker shades, creating a warm minimalist atmosphere.
